Job Description

We're keen to hear from Senior CAD Designers who are interested in joining our dynamic team.

This role is instrumental in the development of our humanoid and creature robots, collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team of artists and engineers.

Our Senior CAD Designer is responsible for:

  • Collaborating with engineers to model, test and optimise mechanical designs
  • Utilising mechanical CAD design to create detailed engineering models for fabrication and assembly.
  • Applying advanced mechanical skills (including motion simulation and optimisation techniques)to develop animatronics systems
  • Designing mechanical drive mechanisms to enhance system efficiency and durability
  • Applying knowledge of humanoid and other organic kinematic movement to inform and validate design decisions
  • Utilising expertise in servo actuator technologies and follow appropriate selection criteria, including calculate forces, loads, and gear ratios, etc.

We're seeking expressions of interest from people who have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in mechanical CAD design, with proficiency in OnShape, SolidWorks or a similar package
  • Experience with motion simulation and optimisation techniques, and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Ideally knowledge of servo motor control systems and an understanding of electronics and basic programming.
