Job Description

We are advertising for a Head of Department 3D Manufacture in our Manufacturing division, based in Miramar, Wellington.

This role is responsible for managing the work in our 3D Manufacture department, and support the Operations Manager to deliver product on time, on budget and meeting client expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading excellent health, safety & wellbeing processes and practices
  • Determining budgets and resource allocation
  • Championing and fostering creative excellence.
  • People leadership and development
  • Providing regular reporting

For this role, we need someone with 12 years plus practical FX Design & manufacturing experience, as well as leadership and development experience.

You’ll also have:

  • In-depth understanding and experience of Zbrush and Rhino modelling for 3D printing and CNC milling
  • Experience with common FX fabrication techniques like sculpting, molding & casting
  • Hands on experience with 3D printing systems and materials
  • Experience managing workflows across multiple teams
  • Budgeting and reporting experience
  • On-set experience
  • Experience in film and immersive experience prop making business

Additional Information

This role is permanent, full-time. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.

The wage band for this role is $50 - $57 per hour.
