Job Description

The Procurement Operations Manager is responsible for leading procurement functions, driving system implementation and optimization, and developing strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance. This role combines strategic thinking, technical expertise with procurement platforms, analytical and negotiation skills, and strong stakeholder collaboration to manage supplier relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the selection, implementation, testing, and ongoing enhancement of procurement systems and tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on procurement data, including spending, supplier performance, and cost savings, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across departments (Operations, Finance, Engineering) to ensure the timely availability of goods and services.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions and compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with the demand team to review forecasts and optimize inventory levels, reducing carrying costs.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles; demonstrated experience with procurement system implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Oracle Fusion and data analysis tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities to engage senior leadership.
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to build trust and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends, supply chain best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel: Required up to 25% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 3–5 team members, including daily operations, performance management, hiring, issue resolution, and mentoring.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds; regularly stand, talk, and hear while performing duties.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write detailed documents and communicate clearly and persuasively in English.

Mathematical & Reasoning Skills

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Apply common sense to execute instructions, analyze complex situations, identify trends, and evaluate multiple solutions independently.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid role (office and remote) with standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) but may vary based on business needs.
  • Low-noise office environment with occasional field visits.
