Job Description
Are you a hospitality leader ready to take the next step in your career? Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead our team and ensure an exceptional experience for our owners and guests! In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations and drive financial success. You’ll also play a vital role in developing our talented operations team and fostering collaboration across key departments. Responsibilities
- Perform appraisals of resort managers, coach and counsel, and develop all resort management staff
- Provide guidance and support to department leaders, fostering a strong leadership culture
- Assist in hiring, training, and developing team members to maximize performance
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and accountability
- Ensure exceptional service standards are met across all departments
- Address and resolve guest and owner concerns in a timely, professional manner
- Implement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty
- Assist with budget management, cost control, and revenue growth initiatives
- Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve overall profitability
- Ensure all financial and operational goals are met or exceeded
- Maintain strong communication with resort leadership, department heads, and corporate teams
- Participate in leadership meetings, presenting insights and solutions to operational challenges
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and revenue teams to align resort strategies
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hospitality experience, including multiple years in management roles within a large hotel or resort
- Prior experience in timeshare properties is required
- Demonstrated success in team leadership and overall property management
- Proven ability to manage large teams and oversee complex resort operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of resort functions, including guest services, room operations, housekeeping, engineering, and food & beverage
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Skills/Knowledge
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and cost control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct teams in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail in all aspects of resort operations and guest interactions, ensuring that service standards are consistently met and exceeded
