Job Description

The Accountant I is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of accounting books and records. Preparation, review, analysis, and presentation of various accounting processes -- inclusive of journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, and revenue & expense variance presentation.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares general ledger closing entries
  • Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial statements
  • Reconciles bank accounts
  • Reconciles general ledger balance sheet accounts and maintains proper backup
  • Exercises proper judgment and presents all findings with a game plan to resolve issues
  • Assists and supports other staff members and other department managers as needed

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Accounting experience in the timeshare industry is preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Accounting software. Oracle software experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word is required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment
