Job Description

Position Summary: As the Event Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales, enhancing brand visibility, and creating memorable experiences for our target audience. You will be responsible for managing a sales team, overseeing event management within your assigned territory, and collaborating with the Events and Sports (E&S) team to achieve national goals.

Responsibilities:

Sales Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a sales team within your assigned territory, providing guidance, support, and training to achieve sales targets.
  • Run sales meetings three times a week to provide sales education, gather feedback from the team, and address challenges at events.
  • Prepare the sales team with equipment and track inventory for events.
  • Communicate with the operations team to ensure staff requirements are met.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define event objectives, themes, and messaging.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning, including logistics, vendor management, and operation support.
  • Coordinate the delivery of event collateral, promotional materials, and presentations.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure seamless integration of event activities with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and build relationships within the territory to host events.

Onsite Event Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of onsite event management, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for attendees.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and event staff to ensure smooth event logistics and operations.
  • Manage event timelines, schedules, and resources to ensure all activities run according to plan.
  • Provide onsite support to troubleshoot any issues, address attendee inquiries, and ensure a positive event experience.
  • Be present at events as the first to arrive and the last to leave, leading by example.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Own sales data and provide regular updates to the corporate team.
  • Track and measure the success of marketing events by analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and event ROI.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement of event strategies and execution.
  • Collaborate with the marketing analytics team to leverage data and insights for event optimization and decision-making.

Office Management and Collaboration:

  • Manage office operations related to event sales, including administrative tasks and coordination with the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing Operations.
  • Collaborate with the Event & Sports (E&S) team to achieve national sales goals and align event strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field or proven experience (5+ years) in sales team management and event management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience in planning and executing successful marketing events, including conferences, trade shows, and experiential activations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in event planning and management software/tools.
  • Strong understanding of event marketing strategies, promotional tactics, and audience engagement techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze event data, measure performance, and derive actionable insights.
  • Flexibility to travel to various event locations within your assigned territory, including weekdays and weekends.
  • Compensation: Minimum wage + override on tours through E&S events and through tours booked from vacation packages within the territory (target base $65k-$80k).
