Job Description

The Senior Operations Training Manager plays a leading strategic role in the training and development department and is responsible for the management of course and content development, training delivery processes, the management of resources to deliver the content and ongoing performance management to ensure training is efficient and effective. Training types include instructor led (ILT), online, and blended.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide strategic direction and solutions that help to support Westgate’s long term performance management strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with Resort Operations, Corporate Operations, and Timeshare Sales leadership to ensure training programs and processes are aligned with critical business priorities and to create a positive end to end experience for all Westgate team members
  • Implement quality control and continual improvement processes to maintain training content and delivery mechanisms that represents Westgate’s quality standards
  • Work with leadership stakeholders to assess, evaluate and prioritize overall manager/leader development needs.
  • Educating stakeholders on training benefits/requirements and availability of that training
  • Build and manage a repository of interactive training techniques/resources used by operations and field trainers
  • Evaluate, redevelop, and maintain talent onboarding programs as needed
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and structured learning experiences
  • Assess training effectiveness and conduct program evaluations
  • This role requires 25-50% travel with the bulk being locally within Central Florida. 
  • This role is fully on-site, not hybrid.

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Hire and oversee training specialists
  • Set performance expectations and measure contributions objectively
  • Provide a roadmap for employee development and career planning
  • Establish and monitor training schedules

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Training Manager, Training Lead, Master Trainer, or similar
  • Advanced knowledge in theories of motivation and techniques used to improve learner engagement
  • Experienced in developing and delivering differentiated instruction
  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting
  • Experienced in providing guidance on training best practices, including experiential learning activities, following evidence-based methodologies and principles such as Kirkpatrick’s levels of evaluation, learner-centered approach, and the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML)
  • Advanced knowledge of training technologies such as mobile apps, interactive polling websites, and games
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of constructivist teaching methods and other learning theories, preferred

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional design, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ATD Master Trainer Certification, AHLEI CHT Certification, or equivalent certification preferred
