Job Description

In your capacity as the Assistant Director of Safety & Security at our Westgate Villas Resort, you will play a central role in guiding the efforts of our dedicated team, including Safety & Security Officers, Supervisors, Managers, and Loss Prevention Specialists. Your pivotal position is instrumental in upholding the highest safety and security standards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests and staff members alike.

As the Security & Safety Assistant Director you will:

  • Conduct investigations into policy violations and state laws, as directed by the Director of Security
  • Supervise incident investigations and assist in HR inquiries
  • Coordinate claims and workers' compensation investigations with Risk Management
  • Report incidents, coordinate with law enforcement, and review reports
  • Prepare activity reports and present security orientation for new hires
  • Interact with guests and team members and implement inventory controls
  • Manage safety programs and assist with access control systems
  • Monitor scheduling, prepare reports, and travel when needed
  • Authorize supply orders and maintain professional memberships
  • Attend meetings and assist in disaster planning and procedures
  • Act as a liaison for criminal prosecutions and conduct surveys
  • Lead Safety Committee meetings and train the Incident Response Team
  • Assume the role of Director of Security as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in hospitality, with a focus on security
  • Minimum 3 years in a management role or bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Hotel Security Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Outlook
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to motivate security teams
  • Completion of background check and drug test
  • Certification and experience as a public safety official preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
