Job Description
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Execute the strategic vision for the Engineering department, aligning it with the resort's overall goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
- Assist in managing the Engineering Department’s budgets, reserves, capital expenditures, P&L reviews, and forecasting expenses.
- Participate in developing and managing maintenance programs, procedures, and schedules to optimize efficiency.
- Support the planning and executing major capital improvement projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and areas for improvement.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate efficient and cost-effective maintenance operations.
- Responsible for procuring and inventorying all tools and materials for the Engineering Department.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications and resort operations devices & software (HotSOS).
- Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal communications.
- Perform custodial and maintenance duties as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals.
- Expert ability to use hand tools, electrical and battery-powered tools, and other pertinent tools.
- Ability to communicate and interpret guest needs positively towards resolutions.
- Must comply with all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and behavior.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, excellent communication skills and the ability to converse fluently in English are essential. Furthermore, you must embrace and embody our core values, which include integrity, passion, and a strong work ethic.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical capability: You should be able to lift up to 35 pounds and be willing to work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Age and driver's license: You must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license to operate company golf carts.
