Job Description
Field support technician performs the on-site field work which is required to manage and repair all hardware and software instruments deployed by CFI & Westgate Resorts to its staff, clients and guest rooms. Acts as technical lead during installation, maintenance, and support issues. These instruments may include but are not limited to: Computers, network components, printers, copiers, telecommunication devices, time clocks, security cameras, kiosks, digital displays, audio/visual components (CATV) and structured cabling. Particular areas of responsibility and coverage zones are subject to change based on need. Technicians must also be able to participate in the on-call rotation which provides after hours support.
DUTIES
- Responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining new device components and software applications.
- Escalates critical issues to management and IT executive staff as necessary.
Removes, replaces, upgrades or repairs, existing or aging equipment and applications as necessary. - Builds, deploys, and documents device components, system images and software packages.
- Interface routinely with Business Analyst, System Administration, and Project Management groups to support hardware and software upgrades, installation, or maintenance.
- Provide direct support to end users in the usage and maintenance of software programs, and network facilities.
- Participation in the on-call after hours support rotation.
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the management staff.

- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Have good presentation and communication skills
- Understand networking technologies
- Be familiar with Microsoft product line, Apple product line, MITEL, phone system, and all end user devices including PC and MAC.
- Understand voice and data cabling technologies and troubleshooting procedures.
Understand network protocols especially TCP/IP. - Be able to troubleshoot and repair PC, MAC and Telephone issues.
- Troubleshoot wide area networking and local area networking problems
- Have a working knowledge of PC desktop operating systems and applications.
- Have a strong knowledge background of MAC and PC environments.
- Have the ability to supervise repairs by outside vendors.
- Have a working knowledge of Internet related equipment.
- Have the ability to troubleshoot the district's telephone system.
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
May require an associate degree or its equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the data networking field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
