Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

This position is responsible for the heavy/detailed cleaning of the bars, service bars, pump rooms and cold/ dry storage areas; to include but not limited to ice machines, floor mats, floor drains, ceilings, high walls and complete breakdown and cleaning of the glass washers.

Receive and verify accuracy of deliveries regarding liquor, beer, wine, and supplies. Put away those deliveries using FIFO where needed. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  1. Receive and transport supplies from the receiving dock and deliver/stock supply rooms. Sweep and mop supply room to ensure cleanliness.
  2. Transport all trash from beverage outlets to the compactor area.  Clean and sanitize disposal rooms and compactor area.  Maintain/clean the equipment necessary to perform duty.
  3. Communicate in written format the status of work performed including descriptions, dates, and times of such work completion. 

    Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

    Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to communicate with guests, co-workers, and management. A constant, open, and constructive line of communication must be always maintained. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift including working in potentially tight spaces which will also require crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching overhead for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, climb stairs without sitting for more than 50% of the shift. Must have the ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry up to 50lbs unassisted, move or push goods on a cart weighing a minimum of 200 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to use various chemicals in a safe manner while wearing the proper protective equipment. Prior experience is preferred but not necessary. Must be able to obtain a valid health card and any other required cards/documents.

Typical physical / mental demands

  1. Ability to comprehend verbal English sufficient to understand job requests from supervisor, guests, and co-workers.  Ability to understand verbal English in case of emergency situations.
  2. Ability to read/comprehend product labeling instructions/warnings to enable the safe application of products and processes within the Hotel. Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
  3. Ability to listen effectively, read, write, speak, and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to communicate with other employees, management, and external contacts.
  4. Basic mathematical skills necessary to verify/balance reports, perform simple calculations and conduct inventories.
  5. Ability to stand, move, and work throughout office area including walking (up to 2 miles, intermittently), climbing stairs/ladders, and riding elevators, for the duration of the shift. 
  6. Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 150 lbs. on an intermittent basis and sufficient dexterity of hand to use pen/paper, mop/buckets, broom/dustpan, scrapers, spray bottles and scrub brush.
  7. Ability to lift a maximum of 150 lbs. by hand.
