Job Description

The Group Sales Manager actively sell group business in corporate, SMERF, government and association markets in the interest of maximizing guest rooms, food and beverage & activity revenue focusing on short/long-term large corporate accounts and industry relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Sales Director, Inventory, Revenue, Accounting, Property Operations
  • Manage projects and events
  • Manage programs and events through every stage
  • Maintain files on all group bookings
  • Site inspections of all properties in our competitive set
  • Follow-up on group leads
  • Compile group contracts, block rooms, forward contract to client
  • Offer client additional amenities to purchase
  • Compile, distribute and follow-up on all bureau group leads and programs
  • Maintain a group room control log (GRC)
  • Solicit new group business
  • Develop/maintain strong rapport with local convention & visitor bureaus and chambers of commerce
  • Negotiate group contracts
  • Develop mail, telemarketing and sales call campaigns for all markets.
  • Develop group booking incentives
  • Coordinate with Reservations Manager for all source/origin codes.
  • Work with sales assistance to develop best possible tracking methods
  • Meet and exceed monthly goals set by DORM
  • Additional projects as they arise.
  • Make presentations to various corporations and/or human resource departments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.
