Job Description

The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change. You will plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.

As a Human Resources Director, you will:

  • Serve as key advisor to General Managers, Directors of Operations, and Sales & Marketing leaders
  • Manage, guide, and develop the Team Member Services team
  • Oversee and administer all Human Resources functions to include, but not limited to, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, Team Member relations, labor relations and contract compliance, performance evaluations, workers compensation and safety, employment processes, learning and development, recruiting, and general leadership guidance and support
  • Partner with Westgate charitable foundations and lead Team Member events.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Team Member Services functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select Team Members.
  • Oversee new Team Member orientation and onboarding.
  • Maintain records of Team Member transactions including new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and statistics for government reporting
  • Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, sexual harassment, and other compliance trainings
  • Administer benefits programs such as health, life, dental, vision, disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and Team Member assistance
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of Team Member relations issues
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Follow up on Team Members with workers compensation
  • Partner with Security for Team Member investigations
  • Review Team Member separation information and related documentation. Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations
  • Review turnover reports with managers to reduce absenteeism and turnover
  • Represent Westgate at Team Member related hearings and investigations
  • Contract with outside suppliers to provide Team Member services
  • Cover duties of the Team Member Services team as needed
  • Travel to Orlando headquarters and other locations as needed

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources Management experience
  • Strong communication skills with versatility to effectively communicate to all levels and functions of the organization
  • Significant timeshare, hospitality, resort and travel industry experience highly preferred
  • Experience in a matrix organization or organizational structure requiring the development of effective multiple working relationships.
  • A business mindset that values the importance of effective Team Member relations
  • Ability to influence decision-making and develop strong partnerships with a high degree of professionalism and HR expertise.
  •  Demonstrated record of creating, supporting, and cultivating positive workplace cultures
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Considerable knowledge of employment laws
  • Highly competent with computer systems such as MS Office, Smart Recruiters, ADP, Excel, etc
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Human Resources Management or equivalent combination of education and Human Resources experience
  • PHR, Professional in HR or SPHR, Senior Professional in HR a plus.
