Job Description

As a Laundry Service Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Manage the maintenance team’s budget by tracking expenses and by proactive procurement.
  • Responsible for the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and/or assigned to the maintenance team.  
  • Coordinates, supervises, and leads all engineering projects and preventive maintenance tasks and repairs.
  • Proactively resolves maintenance issues, processes, and communicates resolutions.
  • Develops and maintains departmental schedule to support laundry operations.
  • Manage team through expectations and accountability.
  • Leads the Safety Committee team for laundry operations.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of maintenance practices for Milnor & Chicago brands laundry equipment.
  • Experienced with working with laundry automated railing systems, pneumatics and logic controls. 
  • Highly experienced in working with steam, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to maintain, repair, replace and improve systems in a commercial laundry.
  • Experienced and understanding of how plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems operate and how to troubleshoot to identify and mitigate issues.
  • Experienced with laundry equipment’s electronic components, low voltage circuits and computer applications.
  • Ability to effectively use devices & software (HotSOS) in the operations.
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal communications.
  • Perform custodial and maintenance duties, as needed.
  • Perform routine inspections on buildings, common areas and mechanical components for safety, mechanical integrity and quality assurance as needed.
  • Experienced in tracking, analyzing, and interpreting inspections to ensure proper operation and proactive repairs.
  • Expert ability to read & interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals. 
  • Must have the ability to recognize and resolve potential hazards in the property.
  • Expert ability to use hand tools, electrical and battery powered tools and any other pertinent tool required by the work at hand.
  • Ability to work using of ladders, scaffolds, lifts, dust masks and work in confined/tight spaces.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal to no supervision or support.
  • Must represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and professional behavior always, as dictated in the Associate’s Handbook.
  • Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute the role to its full potential. 
  • Other duties as assigned by resort operations leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a commercial laundry environment.

  • Must be able to work in hot, humid conditions near loud, moving machine

Leadership  Responsibilities

  • Assists Laundry and Westgate’s leadership with overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of property maintenance
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • All of these under the direct responsibility of immediate leadership.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma, Bachelors or Associate’s in a maintenance related field preferred.
  • 3 years or more of leadership experience in a resort/commercial environment.
  • OSHA Safety Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of computer skills.

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have valid Driver’s license from the State where job is located.
  • Preferably licensed or certified in the major trades; refrigeration, plumbing or electrical.
