Job Description

As a Director of Housekeeping, you will be responsible for managing the overall operations of our Housekeeping Department including Guest Rooms, Quality Assurance, Public Areas and Resort Laundry.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the impact of the department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manage to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure the guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.
  • Use all available on-the-job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow-up training as necessary.
  • Ensure policies are administered fairly and consistently, and disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to policy.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring team members with the appropriate skills.
  • Maintain the highest levels of quality by utilizing innovative strategies resulting in the highest levels of cleanliness resort-wide.
  • Ensuring the resort’s service standards are met every day resulting in exceptional Guest Satisfaction
  • Leading, coaching, teaching, developing, and mentoring our talented Housekeeping Team
  • Maximizing the resort’s profitability by utilizing financial tools and strategies to improve department profitability, control departmental expenses, and increase productivity
  • Director will be directly responsible for justifying variances in the P&L in a timely manner and ultimately having very good control on the budget.
  • The Director will work closely and cooperatively with the Engineering and Front Desk Directors to ensure all areas work towards the same goal.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership track record within a high-volume hotel housekeeping team, ideally within a resort setting of 800 rooms or more, spanning 3 to 5 years.
  • Flexibility schedule and openness to work any shift as needed.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking proficiency is an advantageous asset, though not obligatory.
  • Physical ability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs and capability to perform efficiently in diverse outdoor weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is essential
