Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

 The Security Investigator exemplifies strong leadership, independence and interpersonal skills during investigations related to theft fraud and other related issues. He/she will assist in internal investigations, company-wide, for matters related to any alleged violation of the Company policies and procedures and any potential Team Member misconduct. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

1.                ACT AS A PRIMARY POINT·OF·CONTACT WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT IN CASES INVOLVING TEAM MEMBERS AND GUESTS; UNDERSTAND THE LAWS AND STATUTES THAT HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE METHODS USED IN SUCCESSFUL INVESTIGATIONS, AND ARE ABLE TO MAKE WELL·ROUNDED RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE.

2.                ADAPT AND WORK EXTENDED HOURS, FLEX DAYS OFF IF NEEDED, RESPOND WHILE OFF DUTY IF NEEDED.

3.                ANSWER MULTIPLE TELEPHONE LINES AND CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE; SCREENS AND DIRECTS CALLS TO OTHER DEPARTMENT TEAM MEMBERS.

4.                ASSIST IN INTERVIEWING, HIRING AND PROCESSING OF SECURITY DEPARTMENT APPLICANTS.

5.                ASSIST GUESTS AND EMPLOYEES WHO WALK TO THE SECOND FLOOR SECURITY OFFICE.

6.                ASSIST IN LIAISON WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OR REGULATORY AGENCIES, AND COUNTERPARTS OF OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS FOR ASSISTANCE ON RELATED INVESTIGATIONS.

7.                ASSIST SECURITY DEPARTMENT TEAM MEMBERS, AS WELL AS OTHER DEPARTMENT TEAM MEMBERS ON POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

8.                ASSIST IN LIAISON WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OR REGULATORY AGENCI ES, AND COUNTERPARTS OF OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS FOR ASSISTANCE ON RELATED INVESTIGATIONS.

9.                ASSUME CONTROL OF HIGH STRESS, SENSITIVE SITUATIONS.

10.           ATTEND TRAINING AND MEETINGS AS DIRECTED.

11.           CONDUCT THOROUGH, PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT INTERVIEWS OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS ACCUSED OF VIOLATIONS, WITNESSES, AND REPORTING PERSONS TO OBTAIN KEY FACTS FOR PROPER DECISION·MAKING FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETECTING UNLAWFUL CONDUCT AND/OR VIOLATIONS OF FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL OR GAMING STATUES, BY TEAM MEMBERS OR OTHERS.

12.           DEMONSTRATE EXCELLENT GROOMING.

13.           DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE OF HOTEL AND CASINO SECURITY OPERATIONS.

14.           DEVELOP, INTERACT, ASSIST AND MAINTAIN A PROFESSIONAL WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT.

15.           DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN A PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HUMAN RESOURCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT, DEPARTMENT  LEADERS, AND LEGAL DEPARTMENT TO FACILITATE A COLLABORATIVE RECOMMENDATION ON

16.           DEVELOPS TIMELY, ACCURATE INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO ALL LEVELS OF HUMAN RESOURCES, MANAGEMENT, AND THIRD·PARTY ENTITIES AS NEEDED.

17.           EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH, IN BOTH ORAL AND WRITTEN FORMS; PREPARES AND SUBMITS REPORTS AND MEMORANDUMS AS REQUIRED; ABILITY TO INVESTIGATE MATTERS FAIRLY AND QUICKLY WHILE OBTAINING NECESSARY INFORMATION FOR THE COMPLETION OF REPORTS; ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE SO AS TO COMPETENTLY GENERATE AND COMPLETE REPORTS. 

1.                ENSURE THAT ALL INVESTIGATIONS/INQUIRI ES ARE COMPLETELY OBJECTIVE AND BROUGHT TO A LOGICAL CONCLUSION IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE COMPANY.

3.                FOLLOW ALL RULES, REGULATIONS, STATE, FEDERAL AND LOCAL LAWS AND ORDINANCES, ESPECIALLY THOSE RELATED TO THE CARRYING OF AND USE OF A FIREARM.

6.                MAINTAIN FAMILIARITY WITH ALL AREAS OF THE PROPERTY.

8.                MANAGE MULTIPLE TYPES OF INVESTIGATIONS - INCLUDING VIOLATIONS OF WESTGATE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, THEFT, FRAUD AND RETAIL AMONG OTHER TYPES.

9.                OPERATE COMPANY VEHICLES IN A SAFE MANNER WHILE ABIDING BY ALL LAWS.

10.           OVERSEE THE LOST AND FOUND PROCESS.

11.           OVERSEE THE PARKING PERMIT PROCESS.

12.           PREPARE DETAILED WRITTEN REPORTS

13.           PROPERLY COMMUNICATE VIA RADIO.

14.           PROTECT INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL GUESTS AND COMPANY ASSETS.

15.           READ AND TIMELY RESPOND TO ALL EMAILS AND CORRESPONDENCE RELATED TO THE DEPARTMENT.

16.           RECOMMEND CHANGES TO IMPROVE SECURITY OPERATIONS.

17.           REVIEW AND RESPOND TO DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATIVE NEEDS ON A DAILY BASIS.

18.           TESTIFY IN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS AS NEEDED.

19.           UNDERGO ALL REQUIRED TRAINING AND MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN ALL FIELDS.

20.           UNDERSTAND THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE COMPANY AD WORK EFFECTIVELY WITHIN IT.

21.           OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

1.       NORMAL, CORRECTIVE VISION RANGE, THE ABILITY TO SEE COLOR AND DISTINGUISH LETTERS, NUMBERS AND SYMBOLS.

2.       NORMAL HEARING WITH OR WITHOUT CORRECTIVE HEARING AIDS

3.      ACUTE SENSE OF SMELL AND SOUND

4.       DEXTERITY TO HOLD, MAINTAIN AND FIRE A HANDGUN.

5.      DEXTERITY OF HAND IN ORDER TO USE HANDCUFFS, EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT, TWO·WAY RADIO, MULTI-LINE TELEPHONE, KEYS, COMPUTER KEYBOARD, CALCULATOR AND GENERAL OFFICE EQUIPMENT.

6.       STRENGTH TO SUBDUE PERSON(S). MUST BE ABLE TO RUN AFTER SUSPECTS AT SHORT DISTANCES, STAMINA TO CLIMB STAIRS, SIT, STAND OR WALK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME; BE ABLE DRAG A PERSON DURING AN EMERGENCY.

7.      ABILITY TO LIFT UP TO FORTY (40) POUNDS.

8.       EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE TO INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO WORK FLEXIBLE HOURS AND RESPONDS TO CALL INS.

FURTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, STANDING, KNEELING/CROUCHING, WALKING, BENDING, LIFTING, CLIMBING, GRASPING AND REACHING. 

Experience Requirements:

1.       ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH GUESTS, TEAM MEMBERS AND MANAGEMENT IN BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL FORM.

2.        MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE

3.      PREFERRED THREE (3) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN CASINO OR LAW ENFORCEMENT FIELD.

4.       PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND IN DEPTH COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE IN SECURITY, INVESTIGATION, LOSS PREVENTION, SAFETY AWARENESS AND RISK MANAGEMENT.

5.       ABILITY TO READ, ANALYZE AND INTERPRET GAMING STATUTES, RULES AND REGULATIONS.

6.       ABILITY TO ANALYZE INFORMATION, PROBLEMS, SITUATIONS, AND PROCEDURES FROM AN OPERATIONAL PERSPECTIVE. IDENTIFY ANY RELEVANT CONCERNS AND FORMULATE OR PROVIDE INPUT FOR SOLUTIONS.

7.       MAINTAIN STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY OF CLASSIFIED/SENSITIVE INFORMATION.

8.       ADVANCED COMPUTER SKILLS WITH WORKING KNOWLEDGE IN MICROSOFT WORD, EXCEL, AND POWER POINT.

9.       MUST NOT HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY CRIME FOR WHICH REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO NRS 207.090 OR 207.152.

10.    MAINTAIN A VALID GAMING WORK CARD, ALCOHOL AWARENESS CARD (TAM), AND NEVADA DRIVER LICENSE.

11.    MUST BE ABLE AND WILLING TO CARRY A FIREARM AND HAVE THE APPROPRIATE FIREARM REGISTERED WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT.

12.    OTHER DUITES AS REQUIRED.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF GED CERTIFICATE
