Job Description

The Warehouse Manager ensures that warehouse product distribution is maintained in a cost-effective way that maximizes customer service and ensures smooth operation of all warehouse and order fulfillment operations. The manager will drive effective integration and utilization of ERP and WMS systems to achieve continuous productivity and cost improvement, as well as effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support and nurture culture and climate that results in empowered, skilled, flexible, and engaged team members.
  • Oversee warehouse activities, ensuring we maintain a world class, clean and safe environment that meets all OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, implement and support new/upgraded ERP and WMS systems.
  • Manage the performance and personal development of warehouse teams while building bench strength in all key areas.
  • Plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize based on analytics and reporting.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels by conducting physical inventories and cycle counts, reconciling with inventory system.
  • Establish KPI’s and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing requisitions for repair and replacement.
  • Support warehouse team results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; planning, monitoring and appraising task results.
  • Achieve financial objectives within warehouse by adhering to annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Address Receiving & Inventory Control with Oracle Fusion, Order Management and RF-Smart scanning system.
  • Work in partnership with senior management to develop scalable inventory strategy that supports the growth of the business.
  • Respond to Sourcing and Procurement partner inquiries.
  • Develop and implement appropriate cost saving ideas; Generate and implement ideas for continuous improvements.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in the warehouse and inventory chain; propose and execute risk mitigation strategies.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
  • Attend all corporate safety meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, including taking on project management responsibilities for critical organizational initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly manages warehouse department’s personnel within a specific warehouse.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This role will also be responsible for the Safety, Quality, Performance and Customer Service of the department as you manage your team, adhering to CFI/Westgate’s policies and procedures. 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or other relevant technical discipline preferred
  • LEAN, Six Sigma or 5S certification is a plus
  • 6 - 10 years applicable Distribution/Warehouse leadership experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong operational, analytical, financial, and P & L skills
  • WMS; Bar Code technology and Electronic Data Interchange 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to express thoughts and ideas, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing related to the warehousing, shipping and receiving of goods.

Ability to express information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information.  Listens to others and responds appropriately.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. To interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Oracle Fusion and Order Management systems is a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Forklift Certification
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with insurable diving record
