***THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE AND REQUIRES TO BE RESIDING IN THE CENTRAL FLORIDA REGION***

Westgate Resorts is seeking a Payroll Manager to join our Payroll team! The ideal candidate will be accountable and responsible for delivering high quality payrolls in a multi-state corporate payroll environment. Apply now!

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff, systems and processes required to ensure accurate and timely production, distribution, and reporting of company-wide payroll, payroll tax reporting (federal, state, and local), year-end processes (e.g., W-2), garnishments, and unemployment compensation
  • Produce timely and accurate weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all entities. Balance gross to net and taxable wages. Check for errors before payroll is submitted for final processing
  • Establish policies and procedures for the payroll function
  • Approve all payroll related cash disbursements to ensure they are accurate
  • Monitor state law and tax rate changes to ensure that payroll is calculating accurately. Ensure that policies and procedures are in compliance with labor regulations for federal and state authorities. Monitor and resolve all payroll tax issues/notices on a timely basis
  • Maintain accurate files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements to meet all audit requirements
  • Partner with HRIS to maintain and test all Payroll and Payroll Commission related software for accuracy
  • Must be proficient and at minimum intermediate or expert in Excel
  • Evaluate ongoing staffing effectiveness and efficiencies. Ensure that cross-training among corporate payroll and benefits staff is effectively maintained. Complete annual evaluations for all direct reports. Assist direct reports with identifying and defining their annual goals to ensure that those goals are well structured and in line with the overall company’s objectives
  • Identify opportunities and recommend development of system or process improvements to support efficiencies and accuracy of payroll and associated manager or employee self-service applications
  • Oversee policy and process compliance in the administration of payroll, assuring procedures, processes, and systems comply with federal and state regulations (e.g., Internal Revenue Service) and best practices
  • Verify reports. Generate and pay tax payments for state and federal entities. Verify all quarterly and yearly tax returns are filed
  • Answer and research any and all questions from Corporate Accounting and Mortgage Accounting in a timely manner. Must resolve any open items monthly.
  • Complete other duties or ad hoc requests as assigned by the Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Resources, Finance, or Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in payroll administration and management
  • Minimum of three or more years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Candidate must have working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Experience with ADP Vantage or Oracle a plus
  • Must have excellent accounting, analytical, technical, interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills
  • The candidate must have proven customer service experience and skills; proven communication skills with all levels of management, staff and customers; the ability to think globally, and to identify, recommend, and implement process and system improvements
