Job Description

A Drafter at Westgate Resorts contributes to Westgate Resorts success by supporting design process to create outstanding timeshare and resorts’ amenities designs that uphold the Westgate Customer Experience. The Drafter is a production focused position and as such, a Drafter will be responsible for producing complete drawing sets with assistance from the Project Designer and direction of the Director of Design & Architecture. The Drafter needs to posses adequate knowledge of all phases of construction documentation (SD, DD, CD) and adequate knowledge of relevant buildings codes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Designers and Senior Designers in executing the design vision of senior leadership in an effective and timely manner.
  • Contributes to studio team goals by achieving target deliverables on number of projects and meeting all established deadlines.
  • Works with team to understand financial stewardship and business development as it pertains to design.
  • Champions production of design documentation to support design intent including schematic drawings and finish palettes.
  • Participates in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production.
  • Participates in drawing reviews with Managers, Director of Design & Architecture and cross-functional teams.
  • Able to coordinate drawings across multi-disciplinary consultants
  • Contribute to team culture with Westgate core values in mind.
  • Must comply with all CFI policies and procedures.
  • Must represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and professional behavior at all times, as dictated in the Associate's Handbook.
  • Must work diligently to gain knowledge and experience to execute the role to its full potential.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Professional design experience (1-3 years)
  • General experience in most phases of design from Schematic to Construction Documentation
  • Basic knowledge/ability of material/palate design boards.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture
  • Legally able to work in the United States

Skills/Knowledge:

  • BIM/Revit professional experience required (5 years)
  • AutoCAD professional experience required (5 years)
  • 3D/Visualization professional experience required (1-3 years)
  • Adobe software including but not limited to: Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator (1-3 years)
  • Microsoft Office (3-5 years)
  • Proficient in all phases of construction documentation
  • Proficient in coordinating drawings across multi-disciplinary consultants
  • Proficient in producing construction documents
  • Proficient understanding of relevant building codes/regulations
  • Proficient knowledge in construction
  • Hand Drafting/sketching
