Job Description

The Activities & Retail Supervisor is a versatile and dynamic role responsible for overseeing and coordinating a wide range of activities, special events, and retail operations. This position involves managing a team, ensuring the successful execution of themed events, and maintaining high standards of service. Additionally, the supervisor assists in food, beverage, and supply management to enhance the overall guest experience.

Retail Management:

  • Assist in ordering and scheduling deliveries of Food, Beverages, Groceries, Sundries/Gifts items, and Supplies from approved vendors, following company purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain par-level inventories consistent with department guidelines, stocking and rotating inventory as needed.
  • Coordinate team members' tasks and provide coverage for any position or shift when business volume requires it.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling to staff regarding compliance with Guest Service quality standards and meal preparation recipes.
  • Ensure adherence to product receiving procedures in line with department policies.
  • Monitor the quality and control of Food, Beverage, Groceries, Sundries/Gift items, and other Supplies, including cost controls, quality control, inventory accuracy, and stock rotation.
  • Inspect Deli and Mini Market areas to ensure compliance with government and company safety, security, and sanitation requirements.
  • Oversee adherence to company cash handling procedures and conduct cash till and bank audits when necessary, following departmental approval.
  • Authorize discounted/complimentary guest relation checks within department guidelines.

Activities & Special Events:

  • Coordinate and execute activity and special event programs using creative-themed concepts.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of special events, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively.
  • Manage subordinate team members in the Activities/Kids Club department, providing guidance and support for daily operations.
  • Plan and organize parties for owners, guests, and team members, tailoring events to meet their specific preferences and expectations.
  • Perform weekly inspections of recreational sites to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
  • Have the authority to cancel various activities when weather or other conditions pose a safety hazard to participants.
  • Assume leadership of the department in the absence of the manager, ensuring continuity and efficient operations.
  • Foster an environment that boosts team members' morale and motivation while promoting a strong sense of team spirit and cooperation.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in activity planning for adults and children.
  • Previous experience in activities, special events, or retail management preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards for recreational activities.
  • Must be able to lift 10 lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
