Job Description

The overall scope of the job includes serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned place of work, providing a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service consistent with the standards of Westgate Resorts in order to encourage sales and maximize guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in departmental training and assessments
  • Be alive to new ideas and system which could benefit the department and hotel
  • Handle guest requests and takes personal responsibility to ensure request is met by following up with relevant departments
  • Responds immediately on medical requests and emergencies
  • Assist in investigating and resolving written guest complaints
  • Maintain good and smooth guest relations, builds rapport and offer personalized service and assistance
  • Assist other departments in resolving problems when necessary.
  • Supervise work operations of the department
  • Resolve disputes
  • Deliver high quality service to guests
  • Ensure guest needs and reasonable requests are met
  • Seek opportunities to continually improve guest service
  • Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests
  • Adhere to the hotel’s and emergency policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with property safety, current first aid and fire emergency procedures

To perform this job successfully, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Additionally, the person must possess and adhere to the following core values:

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one year related experience and/or training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hear. In addition, the employee is occasionally required to taste and smell. The team member frequently is required to climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up 25 to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
