Job Description

Join the Westgate Resorts growing Talent Acquisition team.  We are currently seeking a passionate and outgoing University Relations Recruiter to support the Food & Beverage division.  This newly created role will recruit talent and create candidate pipeline for open positions at our award-winning restaurants, retail locations and luxury spas. This is a hybrid work position and will be based in Central Florida.  Extensive travel will be required and defined as both local and out of state travel.

Individual will focus on building strong brand awareness and build strategic partnerships with culinary schools and associations, colleges, universities, employment and career centers, etc. The University Relations Recruiter will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have proven recruiting and/or sourcing experience. Individual will partner closely with F&B recruiters and operational leadership teams to best understand department hiring needs, candidate profiles and work environment.  Recruiter will passionately create authentic connections, while managing stakeholder expectations across all locations and functions. Strong experience working with social media channels, job site resume databases and professional networks such as Indeed, LinkedIn, Handshake etc.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain key partnerships with career services and student organizations with universities, colleges and culinary schools
  • Assist leadership with identifying a companywide school tiering process to ensure we are focused on the right schools to support seasonal hiring needs within the market
  • Develop and execute Westgate Culinary Internship Program companywide
  • Create effective recruitment marketing materials, templates, flyers, etc. that can be leveraged to promote hiring events, school visits, open jobs, etc.
  • Identify, initiate and execute on site or virtual hiring events at schools and within local markets
  • Create and maintain companywide accounts on college and university websites/platforms to market opportunities
  • Create brand awareness for Westgate Resorts through positive interactions with universities, culinary and hospitality schools and work to position Westgate as an employer of choice within the various markets where we have properties
  • Identify and execute open job opportunities to engage with students and faculty that would grow awareness and accessibility of employment opportunities within Westgate programs
  • During peak hiring season, support the recruiting team in sourcing and screening candidates for all food and
  • Proactively communicate with prospective candidates and create and maintain database of future talent
  • Collaborate with recruiting team on candidate introductions for current and future job opportunities
  • Conduct prescreens and formal behavioral interviews with candidates and assess future talent
  • Explore and execute opportunities to engage with students, including but not limited to campus tours, job shadowing, apprentice programs and internships
  • Create sourcing strategies
  • Identify and execute advertising opportunities with associated schools and universities
  • During peak hiring season, support the recruiting team in sourcing and screening candidates for all food and beverage roles

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience required
  • 1+ year experience in Campus Recruiting/University Relations, culinary schools preferred
  • Food and Beverage operations experience preferred but not required
  • Experience leveraging social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) to promote company and job opportunities
  • Experience working with recruiting tools & technologies such as ATS, (SmartRecruiters preferred), interviewing and scheduling tools, pre-employment assessments, CRM’s, etc.
  • Experience managing candidate status’s and tracking within ATS and meeting goals and recruitment metrics

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Positive and professional demeanor with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive problem solver and strong desire to help others
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience using professional network sites such as Indeed, LinkedIn, Handshake etc.
  • Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office suite ( Word, Excel, PPT) as well as Google Docs, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of state and federal employment/hiring laws
  • Strong candidate sourcing skills using a wide array of techniques
  • Demonstrated candidate management, relationship building, and negotiations
  • Prioritize effectively, and act with a sense of urgency

Physical Demands
While performing the duties related to this position, the team member will regularly visit construction sites. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to regularly lift, pull, push and or/move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, for up to eight (8) hours. Must be capable of hearing within what is considered to be a normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, and hear.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include capable of distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and perception, close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
