Job Description

The Group Sales Regional Director is experienced in sales, marketing, and revenue generation for indoor water park facility as well as driving incremental resort room nights and convention business.

Duties will include the marketing and sales of one day and multi-day water park admissions to groups from area schools, churches, sports and social groups, family reunions, and business groups for onsite Wild Bear Falls Water Park.

The Regional Director of Group Sales will oversee Westgate River Terrace Resort & Convention Center. This position requires excellent communication skills and in depth knowledge of the market for Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville and surrounding area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Increase business and room revenue through sales and marketing efforts.
  • Supervise sales staff including hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations and development.
  • Oversee sales staff to maintain rapport with individuals and contacts in order to produce groups and/or convention business, to include room sales, F&B sales, water park sales, meetings and banquets.
  • Schedule conventions and business groups activities at the resorts.
  • Partner with other resort departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales team and prospective clients.
  • Develop and update a hotel-level business plan. Develop and maintain rental sales department budgets.
  • Network with the area Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureaus and Corporate Executives to cultivate business relations.
  • Ensures rental sales efforts exceeds profit plan.
  • Develop and implement rental sales and marketing strategies. Originate and implement sales campaigns.
  • Manage projects and VIP events.
  • Meet weekly with Revenue Management and follow up on all aspects, 30/60/90 days prior to event. Develop, coordinate and attend FAM trips and tradeshows.
  • Oversee site inspections of the hotel. Solicit new group business.
  • Negotiate contracts and citywide conventions. Additional projects as they arise.

Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

At least three years of supervisory and prior hotel experience required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must have a Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B. S.) in related field and two years experience or have minimum of six years of resort sales / management experience.
