Job Description

Oversees daily Housekeeping operations within corporate and resort guidelines to ensure quality standards to ensure total guest satisfaction and consistently meeting quality and timeliness standards in the supervision of housekeeping staff.

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervises and motivate all Housekeeping personnel with daily supervision to include staffing, training, discipline, scheduling and visually monitoring performance to ensure adherence to all service and productivity standards to provide guest satisfaction
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.  On a monthly basis complete assigned projects and keep written track of progress
  • Communicates with guests and employees both verbally and in writing to answer questions and provide clear direction in advising and instructing staff in details of work, organize, conduct and or attend meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Westgate resorts from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position
  • Displays a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
  • Follows company policies, philosophies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates
  • Develops and maintain a high standard of excellence amongst the staff
  • Assists in training and development of staff, both existing and new
  • Examines carpets, drapes, furniture for stains, damage or wear and report as needed
  • Inspects and prepare clean units before turning them to vacant and clean for guest occupancy
  • Completes the required number of units assigned each workday
  • Reports Engineering issues as described by established company procedure to Resort Services
  • Cleans units including but not limited to kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, balcony and/or patios as needed utilizing the established process
  • Replaces housewares and supplies as needed
  • Assists and monitor the organization of storage closets of linen and housewares
  • Reports all lost and found items to Resort Services and Executive Housekeeper
  • Ensures all resort equipment and property is treated with care to avoid unnecessary damage
  • Attends all training meetings and sessions
  • Maintains a safe and hazardous free work area
  • Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISORY SKILLS    

This position supervises entry level personnel in the Housekeeping Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; assist managers with rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems Prepare reports for accidents and update on emergency/ safety procedures.

Must be flexible on scheduling which will vary from 5-8-hour shifts to 4-10-hour shifts.  Must be available to work on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years verifiable supervisory experience.

Valid Driver’s License
