Job Description

The General Maintenance Tech maintains, repairs, and supports the Development department by performing preventive maintenance and other duties as directed by the Development leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance projects, work orders, and preventative maintenance on Development projects and any other properties and grounds as instructed by the Development leadership.
  • Communicates proactively regarding maintenance issues, processes and resolutions.
  • General knowledge and understanding of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems operations and how to troubleshoot to identify and mitigate issues.
  • Perform basic plumbing maintenance on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzi tubs, showers, faucets and sinks up to and including unclogging, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement.
  • Reset or troubleshoot breakers, ballasts, switches, GFCI’s, receptacles, bulbs and other electrical fixtures.
  • Repair interior & exterior walls, wall coverings and ceilings by patching drywall, replacing wood or wall coverings, texture, painting, wallpaper, crown molding and baseboards.
  • Safely use hand tools, electrical and battery powered tools and any other pertinent tool required by the work at hand.
  • Safely use of ladders, scaffolds, lifts, dust masks and work in confined/tight spaces.
  • Follow safety guidelines/practices and recognize and identify potential hazards at the project locations and grounds.
  • Communicate and interpret stakeholder needs by positively interacting towards resolutions.
  • Properly logs maintenance work orders in HotSOS
  • Leaves work area in clean, neat, safe condition and replaces fixtures when project is completed.
  • Follows industry and company safety procedures and practices.
  • Compliance with all CFI policies and procedures
  • Represents Westgate Resorts in a professional manner at all times through appearance, dress and professional behavior
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years in Engineering/Maintenance operations in a resort/commercial environment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle report
  • Must be knowledgeable and able to demonstrate skill using all shop equipment and hand tools. 
  • Must adhere to all safety standards and safety equipment.  
  • Must have the ability to work alone or on a team.
