Job Description

Responsible to oversee the entire Landscaping section to include mowing, installation and trimming of trees and bushes, fertilization and irrigation for Westgate Branson Woods Resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Implement and set up programs with or assisted by the Director of Engineering regarding the maintenance of the grounds in all areas.
  • Responsible for the design and layout of new landscaping projects.
  • Plans all job assignments and instructs workers in their tasks.
  • Interprets policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Responsible for the department budget.
  • Place orders of plant materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of 10 team members. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and irecting work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Horticultural degree preferred. Must possess two to four years related experience and/or training.

Prior management experience required.

Must have knowledge of Tennessee pest and diseases on turf and ornamentals.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
