Job Description

The Data and Reporting Analyst develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control, by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compile and manipulate large amounts of data: figures, facts and number crunching. Ability to analyze the data to make conclusions. Must be able to look at numbers and trends to base conclusions on those findings.
  • Ability to take those findings and present in a clear manner. Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating those ideas.
  • Will need to be able to use large amounts of data to forecast future results.
  • May be asked to assist with the production of regular reports for our executive team as well as other internal or external clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of access and SQL is required.
  • Knowledge of TOAD is helpful.
  • Experience with Alteryx and cleanse data to be used for analytics.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau is required.
  • Background in accounting and/or IT would be helpful.
  • Work independently and take initiative to meet strict deadlines without detailed supervision on a regular basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Multi-task in a fast paced environment. 
  • Perform a high volume of numerical detail-work with speed and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong excel skills are needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret common financial reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
