Job Description

As the assistant to the Chief Engineer, you’ll lead a diverse team of individuals. With a strong background in engineering & maintenance and with experience in the hospitality world, you’ll use your skills to solve problems and perform preventative maintenance in all aspects of the resort. Your past management experience will come into play as you teach, guide, and develop those that you lead.

Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance of all aspects of hotel, including but not limited to; HVAC, plumbing, painting, electrical
  • Coordinate with outside vendors on repairs, upgrades, and replacements
  • Coordinate annual inspections of ?re alarm, sprinkler systems, elevators, board of health items
  • Maintain inventory of Engineering supplies
  • Coordinate training of Engineering employees & facilitate annual employee evaluations
  • Complete and ?le maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Ensure swimming pools are clean, safe, and functional as board of health regulations
  • Obtain contracts for necessary vendors, such as waste removal, HVAC service, plumbing, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be enthusiastic and energetic with a passion for hospitality
  • Experienced in problem resolution
  • Ability to multiple task
  • Previous engineering/maintenance experience in a resort environment required
  • Previous supervisory experience required, 3-5 years of experience preferred
  • HVAC certified preferred
  • Plumbing/electrical background preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to seventy (70) pounds, unassisted
  • Walking, bending, stretching, excessive standing required
  • Working with heights required
