Job Description

As an Activities Supervisor, you will:

  • Communicates and partners with vendors such as Resort Recreation and Tourism to prepare and create activities and events for the resort.                 
  • Manages and facilitates products and services for activities and events.
  • Coordinates activities and special event programs using themed concepts while planning parties for owners and guests.
  • Orders inventory and distributes logo merchandise and sports equipment to the appropriate departments and partners.
  • Purchases and picks up supplies and equipment when necessary.
  • Prepares daily and monthly records, vendor reports, and procedures for logo merchandise, marketing materials and other purchases in accordance to all established procedures.
  • Collects daily written reports about the Fitness Center and Game Room and completes all paperwork and documentation for the department.
  • Cancels and reschedules various activities and events when weather or other conditions pose a safety hazard to participants.
  • Performs weekly inspections of recreational sites and stocks supplies for special events weekly.
  • Coordinates with others when nets, activities supplies and equipment needs repair, repainting, or replacement.
  • Assists in the set-up and break down for special events.
  • Acts as the contact person for entertainment regarding special events and other functions. 
  • Assists with the interviewing, hiring, and training of team members while assigning and directing work. Completes appraisal performance reviews and disciplines team members when necessary.
  • Formulates a fun and upbeat environment for all guests and team members to increase team member moral, motivation, and promote team spirit.
  • Acts as the Activities Director in their absence and assists with other activity and event duties as necessary.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate team members in the Activities/Events department.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Also supervises the recreation Contract Company Resort Recreation & Tourism Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Events Management, Hotel Management, Parks and Recreation or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified and have a current Driver’s License.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to partner with all levels of team members and interact with guests in a courteous and customer service manner.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and coordinate with other departments to create activities and events on property.
  • Proven ability to handle challenges effectively in regards to guest concerns to anticipate, prevent, identify and solve problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally items over 100 pounds with assistance and/or extra equipment.
  • Must be comfortable with variable and outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat.
