Westgate Resorts is seeking a General Manager that has a passion for excellence in providing exceptional service standards! As the Resort General Manager for one of our largest properties, which covers roughly 200-300 acres including 1,000 villas on the mountainside, you will direct and coordinate all aspects of the resort from Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and all other departments. Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a strong team member culture with three core values – attitude, work ethic, and integrity
  • Effectively monitor and actively lead the customer service efforts of the resort
  • Oversee that all employees receive orientation, training and resources necessary to ensure employee effectiveness and continued development
  • Oversees the physical appearance of the property
  • Manage demand, forecasting and inventory as it relates to driving revenue opportunity for the resort
  • Strong understanding of group and transient sales process and forecasting process
  • Plans develops and implements organization policies and goals
  • Coordinates processes of departments in all aspects of operations including; front desk, engineering, housekeeping, activities, to effect operational efficiency and economy
  • Directs and coordinates services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry
  • Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget
  • Responds quickly to changing market conditions and revises strategies accordingly
  • Manages team member relation functions of the resort by controlling turnover, motivating team members, focusing on team member development and retention and conducting regular team member meetings
  • Resolves guest complaints and respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner
  • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage and Hour and Health laws


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Food and Beverage Director, Housekeeping Director, Resort Operations Manager, SPA Manager, Chief Engineer, Human Resources Director.

Qualifications

  • Must provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start of employment
  • Previous large resort General Manager experience
  • Knowledge and skills involving renovations
  • Possess operational experience and a comprehensive understanding of Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Engineering
  • Proven ability to develop budgets, manage financials, and train on profitability enhancements
  • Required to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Required to be on call when away from work as needed
