Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

A butler primarily serves as a key point of contact for Guests and VIP Guests throughout their stay at the hotel. He/She should be fully conversant with all facilities offered by the hotel and also about the local vicinity.

Provides a courteous, professional, efficient, flexible and personalized service at all times. Always well groomed, clean, pleasant, and creating renowned memorable experience for the guests.

Qualifications

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

 

·         Must be able to anticipate needs of guest

·         Take care of all VIP suite room guests and coordinate with all departments to fulfill guest needs and requests.

·         Follows all guest needs until they are completed to the total guest satisfaction

·         Inspect all rooms on VIP floors to ensure all electronics work properly, room cleanliness meets VIP standards, all work order through HOTSOS are completed

·         Advanced knowledge of food and beverage products, brands and pricing

·         Fully aware of the room service menu and as well as all other outlet, answer questions on menu selections, communicates with the kitchen regarding menu questions and product availability.

·         Considerable knowledge and ability in bartending methods and practices

·         Informs departments about all VIP guest needs and requests

·         Update hotel software with guest preferences including likes and dislikes on the guest profile section

·         Works with other departments such as Laundry, PBX, Spa, Concierge, Housekeeping to ensure guests requests are met

·         Works with VIP Lounge to check guest in prior to guest arrival, following proper procedures and standards

·         Meets and greets VIP guests at designated area with room keys in hand

·         Ensure bellmen are available to promptly deliver luggage

·         Knowledge of the point of sale system , property management system, and any other software so that they can correctly perform their duties

·         Able to perform software operations like update profile, requests, verify billing, activate room keys, etc on hotel software

·         Record transactions and order items in Point of Sales system

·         Updates guest feedback and comments in Property Management System

·         Fully conversant with accommodation features: lay-out, room type, location, décor, in room facilities and equipment including small appliances

·         Fully aware of all operating procedures for all electrical and electronic equipment in guest room

·         Serves the guest in a calm, discreet, and courteous manner

Maintains cleanliness of all work areas picking up trays and cleaning tables as needed, china, glass, etc. throughout the day 

·         Performs all other job related duties as requested

Experience  Requirements

·         At least 4 years of experience in a major resort property with customer service skills as a Butler, Personal Valet, Restaurant Captain, Maitre d’ or Food Server

·         Ability to work independently or in a team setting

·         Ability to handle high stress environment

·         Working knowledge of various cuisine and preparation methods

·         Working knowledge of liquors, wines, and other beverages

·         Allocates work time to accommodate the responsibilities assigned

·         Excellent guest service skills 

·         Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

·         Professional appearance and demeanor

·         Work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

·         Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.

Education Requirements

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts and/or equivalent work experience preferred

Desirables:

·         Experience in a Five Star or Luxury Resort Environment

·         Basic Butler training and Wine Knowledge training

·         Professional Butler or Household Management training

·         Working knowledge of all aspects of F&B and personal valet services

·         Five Star or Luxury Resort employment with Food & beverage services experience a plus, including bartending and knowledge of wine service

·         Basic computer skills

·         Bilingual

·         Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
