Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Maintain the slot machines and other related equipment as directed. Make changes to equipment as requested by management. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

 

1.        Install or move slot machines and other equipment on slot floor as requested by management.

2.        Change a slot machine from one type of game to another by replacing the machine glass, reel strips and game program.

3.        Inspect slot machines and stands for deficiencies and take necessary corrective action as well as routine cleaning, lubrication and adjustment.

4.        Restore a broken slot machine to working order using necessary equipment.

5.        Analyze the performance of slot machines using data from our central slot machine computer system.

6.        Generate drawings of slot floor layouts, revenue analysis graphs, charts, schematics, etc., using a PC with printer and plotter.

7.        Fill-out slot machine forms for new machines, changes, and    moves.  Copy to auditing for computer entry and file same in machine file maintained in Slot Repair Shop.

8.        Generate computer prints of slot floor plans, graphs of slot data, and custom slot machine parts.

9.        Prepare documentation to enter slot machines in computer system.

10.     Respond to guest questions.  Provide guest assistance, direction, and information as requested.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

1.        Must be 21 years of age.

2.        Ability to act independently and draw conclusions.

3.        Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.  This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.

4.        Ability to install, repair and/or modify microprocessors. 

5.        Ability to generate slot floor layouts, graphs and parts utilizing "AutoCAD."

6.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete slot machine controls, charts, graphs, schematics and communicate with guests and other employees.

7.        Answer the telephone and provide information as needed.

8.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to follow written and/or verbal instructions and job requests.

9.        Mathematical skills necessary to calculate circuit component values, machine percentages and to analyze data.

10.     Ability to weld to fabricate/repair parts.

11.     Ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and multiple interruptions.

12.     Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.

13.     This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift.

14.     Ability to operate forklift, power drill, electronic test equipment, solder and to move and repair slot machines.

15.     Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system. 

1.        Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.

2.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.

3.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable the safe applications of products and processes.

4.        Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.

5.        Knowledge of electronics/wiring to install, repair and modify electronics.

6.        Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve problems and concerns.

7.        Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen and respond to employee and management inquiries/concerns using a positive, clear speaking voice, answering questions and/or offering assistance giving accurate information regarding plans, policy or procedures within guidelines.

8.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction/guidance.  Ability to relate to all levels of management, employees and guests in verbal/written form.

9.        Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.

10.     Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. 

Typical physical / mental demands

1.        Ability to move and work throughout the Casino for the duration of the shift.

2.        Ability to walk/stand and work 90% of shift walking a maximum of 4 miles.

3.        Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift.

4.        Ability to work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot and noisy.

5.        Ability to grasp, bend, reach, kneel, lift, and/or carry tools/supplies 150 lbs. max to install/repair slot machines. 

6.        Ability to move slot machines utilizing a forklift.

7.        Ability to lift a maximum of 150 lbs. to a height of 2 feet on an intermittent basis.

8.        Ability to push/pull supplies/equipment weighing a maximum of 500 lbs. on a continuous basis.
