Job Description

SUMMARY
Develops business reports and works directly with the Rental Sales & Marketing Division Team by assisting in tracking and analyzing division/department/program performance using various ad-hoc reporting tools. Position is responsible for business analysis, reporting and analytics for the inventory control & management team as well as assisting in those efforts for the rental marketing and call center teams. The position will require the ability to make effective recommendations that will enable the business to identify new opportunities and track both long- and short-term trends by performing the following duties.

DUTIES

  • Tracks and models effective usage patterns from all distribution channels, including VOA, owner, rental, specialty marketing, etc., and makes strategic usage recommendations
  • Make meaningful daily/weekly recommendations to Department Directors about business opportunities and options
  • Monitors usage patterns and forecasts demands
  • Develops and administers annual inventory budgets by source and channel for all destinations and resorts
  • Manages actual usage to inventory budgets and makes strategic recommendations to other Inventory Managers
  • Works to develop new reports as well as refine existing reports to increase yield efficiency
  • Reviews reports to determine basic characteristics such as origin and report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of report
  • Compiles data from various data sources to provide pertinent information in a timely manner
  • Recommends establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information
  • Confers with persons originating, handling, processing, or receiving reports to identify problems and to gather suggestions for improvements
  • Based on call analysis and sales results, evaluates findings, recognize business trends and make recommendations
  • Performs unit level testing to assure reports are operational and meet specifications
  • Directly manage relationship between Yield & Inventory Management & the IT Teams
  • Ability to understand not only the data, but also the business requirements behind the data to facilitate management understanding of the business metrics
  • Providing data in a meaningful and useful manner and ensure that all data delivered is accurate to support required decision making
  • Discovery and design of new reports and ad-hoc reporting as needed

Advanced knowledge of SQL writing
Superior troubleshooting skills
Advanced Analytical skills and performance modeling capabilities
Able to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented, and urgency procured environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to translate mathematical equations into programming logic.

REASONING ABILITIES
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to relate business rules, policies and processes to structured programming flow.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Microsoft and Oracle certifications preferred but not required.
