GRAVE YARD SHIFT

General Summary Of Duties:

Provide valet parking service to all guests who wish to utilize valet parking and protect the Hotel’s liability while providing this service. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following) 

Identify guests who desire valet parking, greet the guest, note the type of vehicle, color, license plate number and locator number on the parking stub.  Give the guest their portion, put the other portion on vehicle under the windshield wiper.  Check the damage and note same on the stub.  Write initials on the stub and drive the vehicle to appropriate locator number.

Identify guests who have valet parked, greet the guest, request the guests’ portion of the parking stub.  Note the type of vehicle, color, license plate number and locator number on the parking stub.  Run to the appropriate spot/vehicle, take the other portion of the valet stub from under the windshield wiper, check the stub’s serial number given the guest and match same.  Drive the vehicle to the guest, take the numbered portion of the stub from the guest and match it to the other portions of the stub.  Release the vehicle to the guest, provided the numbers match.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

1.        Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification.  [Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Non-Gaming Work Permit; Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Gaming Work Permit; Clark County Health Card; Alcohol Awareness Certificate; Valid Driver's License]

2.        Ability to greet customers/guests in a police and friendly manner.

3.        Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve problems and concerns.

4.        Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen and respond to employee, management and/or customer/guests inquiries/concerns using a positive, clear speaking voice, answering questions and/or offering assistance giving accurate information regarding plans, policy or procedures within guidelines.

5.        Respond to guest inquiries.  Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within hotel guidelines.

6.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficient to complete stubs and incident reports, read posted memos and rules/regulations and communicate with guests and other employees.

7.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.

8.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to follow written/verbal instructions from management, other employees and guests/customers.

9.        Basic mathematical skills necessary to determine parking availability, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges and understand portion sizes.

10.     Ability to drive motor vehicles to park/pull same from valet lot.

11.     This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift.

12.     Ability to operate gate opener and motor vehicles to park vehicles in valet lot. 

13.        Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction/guidance.  Ability to relate to all levels of management, employees and guests.

14.        Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.

Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
