Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Clear, clean and reset tables in the Restaurant.  Ensure operating equipment is placed on each table such as condiments, napkins, cutlery etc.. Assist the staff as needed to ensure guest satisfaction. 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

Remove used dishware/tableware and bring them to the dishwashing area.
Clean tables and trays being careful not to break or damage any tableware.  Return condiments and other equipment to proper storage areas or refill condiments as needed.
Assist staff in setting up trays and tables to be ready for incoming customers.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal instructions from management, guests and co-workers.
Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift.
Sufficient manual dexterity of hand to sort silverware, chopsticks, dishes, trash and refill condiments.
Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing/restocking workstation with supplies.
Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice, answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information.
Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to listen and respond to employee or management inquiries/concerns using a positive, clear speaking voice, answering questions and/or offering assistance giving accurate information regarding plans, policy or procedures within guidelines.
Social skills as demonstrated by the ability to deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve problems and concerns.
Respond to guest inquiries.  Provide guest satisfaction through assistance, direction and information within hotel guidelines.
Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. 

Typical physical / mental demands
Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry 100 lbs., or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart/table weighing a maximum of 300 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
Perform tasks requiring standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances to a maximum of 10 miles per shift within the facility.
Typical Working Condition:
Ability to work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot, cold, noisy and wet.
