Job Description

Supports the Team Member Services Manager in all facets of Human Resources related activities by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Manage the Ambassador Program
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures
  • Handle team member concerns/questions regarding insurance, payroll, vacation/sick time, leaves of absence, etc
  • Counsel leadership staff on employee relations issues
  • Liaison between the Benefits Department and team members/managers
  • Liaison between the Payroll/HRIS Department and team members/managers
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition in all matters regarding requisitions, hiring, and transfers
  • Assists in managing leaves of absence
  • Prepare appropriate documentation in order to comply with Team Member Services operations
  • Attend unemployment hearings as necessary
  • Conduct investigations regarding policy violations, EEOC claims, etc.
  • Participate in developing department goals and objectives
  • Partners with leadership to communicate Team Member Services policies, procedures, and programs
  • Facilitates supervisor training, new-hire orientation, open enrollment sessions, and other training classes as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas including, but not limited to, personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and organizational plans
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising leadership on needed actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • General working knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and practices
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of HRIS system (ADP a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources
  • HRCI or SHRM certification a plus

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

HRCI or SHRM certification a plus.
