Westgate Resorts is seeking a Staff Accountant II with accounting experience that will apply principals of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate recording of semi advanced level journal entries in accordance with the corporate closing schedule.
• Compile financial results for assigned areas in support of month end close
• Research financial variances to support Senior Staff.
• Timely research of reconciling items with exceptions reported to Senior Staff for review and consultation.
• Carry out any reasonable request by management that employee is capable of performing.
• Assists with annual external audits.
• Assists with budgets

Requirements:

• Must have a four year degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting strongly preferred) and a minimum of three to five year’s relative experience in a month end close general ledger environment
• Hotel Accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be detail-oriented and have ability to multi-task
• Ability to work overtime to assist Financial reporting department deadlines
• Proficient in Excel (ability to interpret and create spreadsheets), Word, Outlook
• Strong organizational skills
• Impeccable communication skills both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and in a group environment (team player)
• Ability to make sound judgments and solve problems
