  • Full-time, 2 Years Fixed-Term position at HEW Level 8.
  • Campbelltown campus with flexible working arrangements.
  • Salary: $120,754 – $134,051 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Lead the Faculty’s clinical trials portfolio, strengthening governance, compliance, financial oversight and operational delivery.

The Opportunity

You will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Faculty of Health’s clinical trials portfolio, overseeing trials from start-up through to close-out. You will ensure activities are delivered effectively, ethically and within agreed timelines, budgets and regulatory requirements.

You will develop and continuously improve clinical trial governance frameworks, procedures and systems. Drawing on your knowledge of ICH-GCP, NHMRC, TGA, ethics, privacy and institutional requirements, you will provide specialist advice to senior stakeholders, investigators and external partners on compliance, risk, resourcing and financial management.

You will oversee budgets, financial tracking, invoicing, forecasting, governance submissions, contracts and reporting. You will also lead clinical trial staff and resources, manage relationships with sponsors, CROs, funding bodies and health partners, and implement digital and AI-enabled tools that improve trial operations, data management and performance monitoring.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver clinical trials from start-up to close-out within agreed timelines, budgets and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish effective governance frameworks, procedures and systems that support compliant, high-quality trial operations.
  • Maintain strong oversight of ethics, governance, risk, contracts, budgets, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide clear, specialist advice that supports sound decisions by investigators, senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Improve operational performance through capable staff, effective resource management and fit-for-purpose digital tools.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, science, nursing, business administration, research management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Extensive clinical trials operations or management experience within a university, health, industry, CRO or research environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICH-GCP, NHMRC, TGA, ethics, privacy and institutional compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing complex clinical trial operations, including budgets, timelines, reporting, governance submissions, contracts and stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical and systems skills, including experience with clinical trial management systems, electronic data capture platforms, REDCap, Medidata or equivalent tools.
