ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the AI Logistics Automation Specialist, you will support the design, building, and prototyping of AI agent workflows for supply chain and logistics operations at Western Digital. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads, you will help connect AI agents, visibility platforms, and automation tools to improve logistics processes across the organization. You are a hands-on, curious learner who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to build expertise in AI and automation within a supply chain context.

• Assist in designing, building, and prototyping AI agent workflows for supply chain and logistics use cases under the direction of senior team members
• Help translate business requirements into functional components, contributing to proof-of-concept development and iterative prototyping
• Support the application of LLMs, OCR, and AI techniques for document processing, data extraction, and basic automation tasks
• Support the integration of AI agents with logistics systems such as OTM/GTM, visibility platforms, and other operational tools
• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining integrations and automation scripts across connected systems
• Help troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with guidance from senior engineers
• Contribute to building and maintaining visibility tools for tracking and monitoring logistics operations
• Assist operations teams by supporting the deployment and testing of AI-driven solutions
• Monitor workflow performance and escalate issues or anomalies to senior team members in a timely manner
• Collaborate with supply chain, logistics COE, IT, and business teams to understand requirements and gather feedback
• Participate in team discussions, prototype reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support continuous improvement
• Document workflows, test results, and solution details to support team knowledge and institutional memory
• Actively build foundational knowledge of AI, agentic workflows, and automation technologies relevant to logistics
• Learn relevant supply chain and logistics systems, processes, and operational context
• Take initiative to upskill in both technical and domain areas with support from mentors and project leads  

REQUIRED:  

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Master’s degree in  computer science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
• Basic programming skills in Python or similar scripting language, with ability to write and modify automation scripts
• Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts, including exposure to LLMs, OCR, or data processing techniques
• Familiarity with supply chain or logistics operations concepts (e.g., transportation management, warehouse operations, order fulfillment)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting

PREFERRED:     

• Exposure to logistics systems such as Oracle OTM/GTM, SAP, or similar ERP/TMS platforms
• Hands-on experience with AI/automation tools, low-code workflow platforms, or API integration (internship, academic project, or self-study acceptable)
• Experience working with data formats common in logistics (e.g., CIPL, packing lists, shipping invoices, customs documents)
• Knowledge of AI agent frameworks or orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain, n8n, Make, or similar)
• Familiarity with database concepts and basic SQL queries

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical workflows clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences

• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and business stakeholders
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, particularly when handling data and testing workflows
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with guidance from senior team members
• Growth mindset with willingness to receive feedback, iterate quickly, and continuously improve
