Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Engineer to join our team in George Town, Malaysia. As a Product Engineer, you will play a crucial role in HDD-Media-Head performance characterization.

  • You would guide Media Mfg. Engineering team to optimize process to deliver best Media performance at HDD.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product specifications and requirements (PM, Development and Process Engineering teams)
  • Optimize existing products for improved yield performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability
  • Support Media performance optimization from development to high volume production
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Drive digitalization initiatives in manufacturing
  • Implementing data-driven decision-making using advanced analytics.
  • Utilize AI/ML models for predictive analysis of yield, reliability, and performance trends.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED:

  • Familiarity with industry-specific knowledge (HDD or Media process related experience would be added advantage)
  • Update to date on Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and smart factory trends.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site manufacturing support or meetings

SKILLS:

  • Data analytics tools (JMP, Minitab, SQL) and exposure to Python/R for data science are an added advantage
