Job Description

Job Summary:

The role is responsible for managing supplier quality operations, ensuring compliance with IMS/RBA standards, and driving continuous improvement in quality, yield, engineering, and cost. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned commodities, the position collaborates with suppliers to meet specifications, qualify new suppliers, and enhance performance through quality initiatives. Key duties include supporting factory and SQE goals, reviewing supplier capabilities, attending performance review meetings, and maintaining adherence to EHS and company regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with suppliers on supplier quality management based on control tower shift left approaches
  • To develop & improve component quality & quality system
  • Component quality monitoring & reporting
  • Issuance of correction action request & CA verification & closure in WD system
  • To review, drive & close 8D report from supplier to recover from quality incident & sustain high quality level
  • To advise the technical matter to the Engineer.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the component and quality system.
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities for all components assigned
  • Drive corrective action of suppliers to recover from quality deficiencies and sustain a high level of Quality

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related field.

PREFERRED:

  • ·At least 5 years of related working experience in a related field
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in supplier quality management, process validation, and advanced quality planning

SKILLS

  • At least 5 years of related working experience in a related field
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in supplier quality management, process validation, and advanced quality planning
  • Good communication skills and able to work with all levels of employees at WD & external suppliers
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams toward achieving strategic objectives and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • High integrity, initiative, self-motivation, and a team player
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA AIAG VDA, MSA, DOE, and 8D problem solving.
  • Hands-on experience with supplier audits, process capability studies, and root cause analysis.
