Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a project-based engineer to support improvement initiatives within the HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly) operation. The role focuses on identifying and implementing improvement opportunities to enhance HGA capacity, tool and direct labor (DL) utilization, and cycle time performance.

  • Work on project-based assignments to identify improvement opportunities in HGA capacity, tool/DL utilization, and cycle time
  • Perform bottleneck process studies to analyze capacity constraints and operational inefficiencies
  • Collaborate with responsible area owner engineers to develop, test, and demonstrate improvement actions
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving techniques to evaluate process data and identify key improvement levers
  • Track and report progress, improvement results, and recommendations to project leaders and management teams

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Internship student in the cooperative education program (CWIE) is required to have an internship period of at least 4-6 months

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge in the Industrial/Production field
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
  • Basic understanding of capacity analysis, tool utilization, and process optimization
  • Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)
