Job Description

Western Digital Research is looking for a passionate software engineer to design, develop and maintain storage software solutions and explore future storage device features and storage systems architectures.

The software engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, participating in open standards, and designing, prototyping and developing system solutions.

The ideal candidate is familiar with open-source software development practices, the Linux kernel source code and with open standards such as PCI, SCSI, ATA and NVMe.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as an open-source software engineer or software developer
  • Excellent knowledge of the C programming language and bash scripting
  • Experience with Linux kernel development and test-driven development
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork (fluency in English is required)
