Job Description
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
As a Staff Analytical and Characterization Engineer (Chemical and Material Characterization), you are responsible of ensuring that various chemical characterization capabilities are current, demonstrate strong failure analysis, data analytics and root cause investigation capability. Must be skilled in various characterization tool and programing language. Capable of defining mid to long term goals and achieve the expected result through strong leadership skill. Required to be a licensed chemist. Performs the following responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform Engineering task to ensure that required chemical, material and physical characterization deliverables are achieved. Includes but not limited to actual tool operation and application, data analytics, and automation.
- Develop methods and innovates characterization process to ensure that required capability is sustained. Includes but not limited to wet chemistry analysis, various spectroscopy and chromatography techniques (RAMAN,SEM-EDX,GC,IC)
- Generates technical and executive reports, review and approve Technician’s report.
- Sets objective and plans effectively including coaching & mentoring Technicians within the organization to achieve the deliverables
- Communicate, engage and supports the function /department and site objectives.
- Communicates to higher management and executives when necessary
- Demonstrate strong capability in problem solving to support operations and issues that requires the analytical expertise of the team.
- Plans effectively to ensures availability of resources to run the process
- Support Company activities and implementation of policies and programs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
- Licensed Chemist
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science
- Alteast 7 years of professional experience in the Chemical and Physical/Material Laboratory.
- Industry exposure in Electronics, Semiconduction Manufacturing setup is highly preferred.
- Master's degree in related field is an advantage.
Skills & Competency Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical skills, and failure analysis.
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work with teams across different departments and collaborating effectively.
- Proficient skills in data analytics/data science and programing.
- Flexible and adaptable to Western Digital culture.
