Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer, doing HDD component, assembly and system level engineering, documentation, test and qualification.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a fast paced team environment to design the next generation of storage products for Surveillance, NAS, Gaming, and Consumer Electronic markets
- Design HDD components with emphasis on low-cost design with high reliability.
- Validate fit, function and quality of designs
- Follow technical test procedures and manuals to setup and run validation tests
- Clearly and technically document findings in Issue Tracking system
- Create technical reports and test procedures as needed
- Research and problem solve technical issues encountered
- Work with cross functional teams to communicate design, test and qualification status and gather new requirements.
Qualifications :
Required :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years in Hard Disk Drive or other electronics company or related field
- 6+ years CAD experience
- FEA experience
PREFERRED:
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues
- Technical knowledge of HDDs and SSDs is desirable
- Knowledge of Surveillance systems is a plus
SKILLS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fast Learner
- Ability to multi-task among multiple projects and manage time wisely
- Ability to work well on independent projects with little supervision
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Able to research and solve technical problems independently
- Pro-active with a good positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Responsible team player willing to help out and perform any task to get the job done
- Able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
