Job Description

Manage and coordinate IR functions

The Investor Relations Manager has significant interaction with the executive management team. Active member of the IR team developing a World Class IR practice. This position will lead in coordination of management participation in investor marketing activities and assist in performing analysis and material preparation for the executive leadership team, investors, sell-side analysts, and other key internal stakeholders. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in writing and in person and have a presence to effectively communicate both vertically and horizontally across an organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist the creation of all company quarterly earnings call materials – quarterly financial press releases, conference call scripts, Q&A documents, and other associated materials. Develop key messages and effectively communicate those messages through all materials.

· Coordinate and prepare management for participation in investor conferences, virtual and/or live road shows, bus tours, investor visits, investor days, proxy outreach and the annual shareholder meeting.

· Ensure Executive Team and Board of Directors are updated on investor and analyst perceptions of the company. Recommend and implement any necessary course corrections in messaging or relationship management.

· Providing updates on peer activity including news releases, earnings calls, investor events, and key sell-side research reports.

· Review and analyze sell-side research and models to monitor changes in ratings/price targets/estimates, comparisons of consensus estimates to internal forecasts.

· Monitor stock performance and valuation moves against the market, industry and peers and communicate key insights on these changes to stakeholders.

· Excellent oral communication, written communication and presentation skills and an ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of an organization.

· Monitor analyst consensus estimates and expectations, maintain the company’s working model, and perform valuation analysis on the company, peer groups, and broader market to develop insights on performance.

· Perform research and provide business, industry, competitive, and market insights to key internal stakeholders, reporting to executives on stock performance,

positioning, competitive analyses, and any potential activities that could impact the company.

· Track all investor marketing activities and create investor profiles, targeting and ownership reports and analysis, database.

· Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Communications and other internal stake holders ensuring that a consistent corporate image is presented to analysts, institutional investors and individual shareholders in all communication.

· Coordinates press release distribution and manages and refines the process around publication of press release, monthly metrics, and quarterly earnings releases.

· Prepare management for meetings and calls with investors and analysts. Support communications with buy-side and sell-side investors. Supports quarterly earnings process including preparation of various earnings materials in conjunction with Finance, Legal, Corporate Communications, and other parties.

· The successful candidate will be highly accountable with a strong results orientation and will bring a track record of superior and rapid results. He/she will have a mindset of operational excellence, combined with superior project management capabilities needed to balance multiple priorities at one time. Capable of demonstrating initiative and independence in carrying out multiple tasks, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving skill. Highly motivated, very flexible in terms of tasks assigned, work hours, and the ability to do what it takes to get the job done.

· Assist the team in various internal projects as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

· Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus

· 8+ years of work experience.

· Work experience in investor relations preferred or equivalent experience in equity research

SKILLS:

· Proven expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with FactSet, IR Insight, and/or Capital IQ a plus.

· Excellent communication and people skills.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and research skills.

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
