Job Description

  • Position Overview:

    The Senior Director of Test Engineering will play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing the test engineering functions within our semiconductor manufacturing operations. This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing the test strategy, managing test engineering teams, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our semiconductor products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of semiconductor test methodologies, advanced test equipment, and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive test engineering strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to the test engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Test Engineering Management: Oversee the design, development, and execution of test plans, methodologies, and procedures for semiconductor products. Ensure that testing processes are efficient, effective, and meet industry standards.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of test engineers and technicians. Provide guidance and support for career development, performance evaluations, and skill enhancement.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in test engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices and leverage advanced technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management, to ensure seamless integration of test engineering with overall product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the test engineering budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, and resource allocation. Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all test engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in test engineering.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex test-related issues, including failure analysis and troubleshooting. Provide technical expertise and guidance in diagnosing and solving test-related challenges.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in test engineering within the semiconductor industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies, test equipment, and data analysis. Familiarity with various test techniques, including functional, parametric, and reliability testing.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with strong skills in mentorship, performance management, and team development.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing complex projects, including planning, execution, and resource management. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing and resolving issues.

Additional Information

  • New product transfer, ramp and sustaining of highly diversified SanDisk/WD memory product lines in its Shanghai factory, a recognized World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network member. 
  • Leads a team of Product and Process Engineers in the Test Manufacturing Area. 
  • Drives the standard and compliance for test program development, buy-offs and product qualification related to testing of Memory components and embedded systems. 
  • Manages the team that develops High Volume Manufacturing Test Plan and Implementation. 
  • Drives process simplification and automation in the Test Area with full adoption of IR4.0. 
  • Establishes capability to deliver electrical Failure Analysis of product yield improvement to meet yield and quality targets.
  • Ensures benchmarking and compliance of partner factories and Contract Manufacturers on product KPI’s and continuous improvement projects.
