Job Description

As the Senior Director leading Procurement Business Operations, you will play a vital role in managing and optimizing operations within the function. You will focus on key priorities to drive transformation and critical business outcomes aligned to the company’s strategic imperatives. 

Initial focus and first year priorities will be connected to current initiatives as describted below:

  • Accelerate process improvements already identified related to updating current process/policies that drive operational efficiencies connected to Digital Transformation and data enablement efforts.
  • Assess, identify and make recommendations to build a contract boilerplate integrating terms with our supply chain that are connected to broader business needs. 
  • Build upon current plans for broadening Procurement scope with supply chain focus.  Support stakeholder alignment on future state vision.

 

Procurement Strategy: Create and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall business objectives. This involves understanding market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal needs to optimize procurement processes.

Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to guide, inspire and set set clear objectives that foster a collaborative and high-performing culture within the procurement department.

Process Improvement: Evaluate and continuously improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and increase productivity. Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to streamline / eliminate workflows.

Financial Acumen: Understand financial principles and how they relate to procurement activities. This includes budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting to support decision-making and demonstrate the value of procurement initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, sales, and operations, to align working capital management strategies with overall business objectives. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimize initiatives and drive performance improvement.

Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives related to procurement processes, systems, or organizational structure. Effectively communicate changes to stakeholders and facilitate smooth transitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of driving results and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives related to M&A and Divestitures in a publicly traded company strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with supply chain functions including procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing working capital strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify areas for improvement.

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
