Job Description
As a DevOps Intern at Western Digital, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced DevOps and firmware engineering teams. You will be exposed to the entire development lifecycle, focusing on the integration of firmware code written in C++ and our CI processes implemented in Python. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about DevOps, possesses a solid understanding of C++ and Python, and is eager to learn and apply best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with firmware and fellow DevOps engineers to integrate, build, and test firmware code written in C++.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline using Python.
- Implement and enhance automated testing processes, including unit testing, static code analysis, and vulnerability scanning.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve build and test issues.
- Contribute to the documentation of CI/CD processes and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in DevOps.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with C++ and Python programming languages.
- Knowledge of build tools and best practices in CI/CD.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with firmware development is a plus.
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS is a bonus.
