Job Description
Western Digital’s full-time Product Leadership Development Program (PLDP) offers recent MBA graduates the opportunity to experience diverse product-centric roles within the Flash Business Unit by giving exceptionally talented MBA graduates ample opportunity to drive impactful work, expand their network, and develop the technical and leadership skills that enable them to be successful in our industry. Members immediately join a close-knit cohort of MBA graduates who drive the program's direction while having fun along the way with regular coffee chats, happy hours, and events.
This rotation program is a fantastic opportunity to gain a breadth of experience working with innovative products that push the boundaries of technology. The goal is to foster future business leaders in the company. Candidates who complete 3 rotations in 3 years are eligible for full-time leading roles.
Rotation Business Functions:
- Data Analytics
- Product Strategy
- Product Marketing
- Program Management
- Project Management
- Technical Product Management* (This role requires a technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or prior semi-conductor industry experience. MBA/Meng Candidates will be strongly considered)
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day responsibilities span across the product lifecycle and include close partnership with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
- Analyze market intelligence to understand top-down market trends, capabilities, supply demand, and customer requirements to enable the business’ long-term competitive success.
- Develop and present business cases of innovative technologies and opportunities for senior leadership.
- Partner with engineering to establish new product features and solutions by analyzing next generation product requirements and competitive landscapes.
- Become the voice of the customer as you coordinate with regional sales teams, channel partners, and end-users to understand insights and trends by persona.
- Develop go-to-market strategies and drive product marketing activities for new product launches.
- Analyze data-driven algorithms to assess market trends and the competitive landscape to create pricing models for new and legacy products.
- Own end-to-end rotation program “tracks” execution by taking on additional responsibilities related to recruiting, training, social engagement, and more to support the program and its success.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of work experience
- Candidates graduating with an MBA or MBA/Meng degree in the current year.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver effective presentations for senior management.
- Strong quantitative, analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and in large, cross-functional team settings and display prioritization, time management and organization skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to self-start projects and operate in ambiguity.
- An ideal candidate has intellectual curiosity, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates leadership capabilities in past experiences, and can influence change.
Preferred Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Data Science, or other STEM focused degree) *
- Dual MBA/Meng Degree for candidates seeking Technical Product Management* and Technical Product Marketing Roles
- Prior work experience in semiconductor industry* or consulting
- SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel
